NuVasive employee value proposition
Company
NuVasive
Year
2022–2023
At NuVasive, our employees operate with a shared mindset of The Cheetah Way, which consists of our purpose, values, competencies, and strategic priorities. As part of our culture development efforts, we wanted to identify the unique advantages one can experience while working at the Company. We sought to understand why our employees chose to stay at NuVasive.
Purpose
Transform surgery, advance care, and change lives
Values
We think, we do, we care
Objective
We aimed to discover and convey a unique, authentic, and compelling NuVasive employee value proposition (EVP) to engage current employees and intrigue future employees.
“As part of an employer’s brand strategy, an EVP represents everything of value that the employer has to offer its employees.”
Summary
Over a six-month period, our EVP project team organized and analyzed data from the annual employee engagement survey, stay and exit interviews, and social media reviews. Focusing on qualitative data, the team identified universal themes and strengths to create four value statements: always innovate, driven by purpose, have each other’s backs, and proud of what you do. A randomized group (28) of our 3,000+ employees were selected to participate in focus groups to test the proposed EVP. After final refinement, the EVP was translated into seven languages to become a global EVP.
Outcome
After being acquired by Globus Medical, the EVP work was used to inform the Globus team of NuVasive company culture. The EVP provided clarity about the unique advantages one could experience while working at NuVasive. While our NuVasive employees did not see this final EVP, it was a snapshot of our Company culture prior to acquisition.
